The pose felt stale, the model looked bored, I felt bored. I thought about constructing an under water scene... but that seemed like a lot of hard work - all those fish, the seaweed, refracted light, etc. I did a couple of sketches and blobbed a bit of paint directly into my sketchbook, and then packed up my stuff.

I didn't go back the following week. I didn't go back the week after that. Several months passed but I just couldn't garner the enthusiasm to return.
At a loose end at Easter I dropped into the Monday session with just a pen and pad – perhaps minimalism could rekindle the spark...

I kind of feel this experiment may be over over. I've done my time working with the impracticalities of paint. I've done some not so bad stuff, some bad stuff and some really bad stuff and have filled up my economy A3 portfolio. Perhaps it's time to stop.
